Girish Chodankar has also demanded a white paper on the financial aspects of BRICS including the central funds received and the expenditure incurred by Goa government.
He told the media that the BJP government should appreciate that Goans had happily tolerated inconvenience due to the international event. “Let compensation be paid to the ramponkars, fishing trawlers, gadda traders, bar and restaurants, water sports operators, shops, bus transporters etc., who had to sacrifice business due to BRICS summit,” he said.
He claimed Goa had lost an opportunity to showcase Goa at global level during BRICS. “Instead of highlighting a Goan theme, BJP tried to make political gains by designing a logo similar to Lotus, which is  its party symbol.”
