The committee has further demanded that the SGPDA show the ground in front of the North gate of the Nehru stadium, Fatorda, as open space since any construction on that ground will cause huge traffic congestion.
Addressing the media in the presence of Piedade Noronha and Melvyn Fernandes, Congress spokesman Avinash Tavares said that if a truck terminus is set up behind the wholesale fish market, it will create huge traffic jams in the area since the district hospital, collectorate and new buildings have come up in the area, while apprehending that a truck terminus will lead to pollution of river Sal.
The block committee pointed out that the St Francis Xavier Chapel near the stadium is not shown on the ODP, while other religious structures are also not seen.
Saying that petrol pumps shown next to South Goa Planning & Development Authority  and district hospital will cause traffic congestion, Tavares demanded that open spaces need to be identified and acquired in these areas.
