Vasco's Gurukul Academy opens
PANAJI: JCI national president Rajshree Bhaje inaugurated JCI Vasco's Gurukul Academy - an academy for the underprivileged students living in the slums who do not get a proper study environment.
15 slum children have been selected to be trained in this academy. They will be given training in basic communication skills, maths, science, sports, yoga, dance, art and craft. Bags, uniforms, books and stationary were distributed to the 15 slum children at the hands of Bhaje.
Shainaz Shariff, president of JCI Vasco welcomed the students and zone members as she highlighted the need for opening such a project. Rohan Bandekar spoke about the Gurukul project while Anant Prabhu gave a brief overview of the Gurukul Academy Also present was the national director business Sachin Kurtikar, zone president Peeush Ramnathkar, zone vice presidents Mohammad Ahmad and Poonam Shirsat and members.
