Goa’s para athlete Sakshi Kale has been selected to represent India at the World Para Athletics Grand Prix (WPAGP) 2025 in Paris. She is the only athlete from Goa in the 23-member Indian contingent.
An interaction was held in her honour at Sesa Ghor by Vedanta Sesa Goa, where CEO Navin Jaju congratulated her. Sakshi is an international silver medallist and Khelo India gold medallist, and was selected following her strong performance at the 2nd Khelo India Para Nationals and the World Para Athletics Grand Prix 2025 in Delhi, where she won gold and silver in the 100m event.
Jaju said, “Sakshi is a role model and inspires us all with her spirit. We are proud to support her as part of our #IronLadies25 initiative.” He added that Vedanta Sesa Goa believes in giving back to the community by empowering sportspersons and bridging the gap between aspirations and opportunities.
Sudesh Thakur, Secretary of the Goa Paralympic Association, also wished Sakshi well and thanked Vedanta for its continued support of para athletes.
Sakshi, a resident of Usgao and a student of GCASC, Khandola, will compete in the 400m and 1500m events in Paris. She thanked the Government of India, the Goa Paralympic Association, and Vedanta Sesa Goa for their support, saying it has strengthened her resolve to perform well internationally.
