The Comba subway witnessed an accident on Saturday noon when a vehicle rammed against the height barrier, disrupting traffic.
Locals demanded that the PWD or the Railways should install the height barrier, metres away from the subway, to facilitate the vehicles to return back if they find the vehicle cannot pass through the subway.
“What is happening now is that the height barrier is installed right at the mouth of the subway. When vehicles try to cross the subway, they cannot take a turn and return back,” remarked a local.
The incident disrupted traffic at the subway and affected the smooth movement of vehicles when the railway crossing was closed for traffic.
