Breathing a sigh of relief despite challenging weather conditions, paddy farmers in Velsao successfully harvested their crops on Tuesday, overcoming the hurdles of scanty rainfall this season.
Cultivators at the fields expressed gratitude to Cortalim MLA Anton Vas after receiving timely support that saved their agricultural season. The annual harvesting facility offered by Vas proved to be a critical lifeline for local farmers, especially after the previous harvesting machine provided free of cost was sold off by its owners.
Pale Tole Xetakaranche Association (PTXA) President and social worker Roquezinho D’Souza, alongside local agriculture officials and farmers, lauded the initiative. They emphasised how crucial timely assistance is for sustaining traditional agriculture and supporting cultivators year after year.
