With the Shree Samsthan Gokarn Partagali Jeevottam Math in Canacona filled to capacity, a large number of devotees witnessed the 550th-year celebrations on giant screens within and outside the precincts of the Math on Friday.
According to sources, four giant screens were installed, two within the Math premises and two outside the large pandals.
Security personnel prevented people to assemble beyond the sitting capacity in the pandal, where Prime Minister Narendra Modi addressed the devotees, Mahajans and invitees of Shree Samsthan Gokarn Jeevottam Math
With the pandal filled to capacity, a large number of devotees secured entry into the Math precincts, but were not allowed to enter the pandal.
They had to be content with witnessing the proceedings on giant screens as the Prime Minister entered the Math, took a darshan and worshipped Lord Ram and Veer Vittal in the respective temples inside the Math.
Simultaneously, in order to improve connectivity and security ahead of the Sardha Panchashatamanotsava celebrations, the government through Department of IT had installed over 100 Wifi hotspots and 240 CCTV cameras, in addition to the Math’s 200 CCTV cameras within and outside the Shree Samsthan Gokarn Partagali Jeevottam Math. Besides, new mobile infrastructure of 5G coverage was also added to the network.
