Video clip triggers swift police action

Porvorim police have booked and imposed a fine of Rs 5,000 on Sagar Vankhede of Nashik on charges of throwing garbage in the Torda creek.
Police mentioned that on November 26, a video showing a couple in a car dumping garbage at Torda creek in Salvador do Mundo went viral on social media.
Porvorim police acted swiftly, traced the vehicle and brought Vankhede along with the vehicle to the Porvorim police station, where he was booked under relevant laws and fined Rs 5,000. Vankhede accepted his mistake and voluntarily removed the garbage from the creek, police said.
