An abduction complaint filed at Verna police station took an unexpected turn after the alleged victim was traced to Gujarat, only for him to tell police and the court that he had left Goa of his own free will.
A woman had alleged that Rajiv Kumar, a native of Bihar, had been abducted from his rented residential room in Verna and filed a complaint at the Verna Police station.
Acting on the complaint, Verna police swung into action and formed a team under the supervision of PI Anand Shirodkar and guidance of Mormugao SDPO Gurudas Kadam to trace him using technical surveillance.
The police team eventually traced Kumar to Gujarat with the help of Vapi Central police station. The police team, wasting no further time, immediately left to Gujrat by flight and brought the victim back to Goa.
However, the case took an unusual twist when Kumar reportedly told the police and later confessed before the court that he had left the State voluntarily.
Kumar also rubbished the allegations that he had been abducted, leaving police with an unexpected twist in what had initially been treated as an abduction case.
