After getting Union Civil Aviation Minister Suresh Prabhu to order airlines to make in-flight announcement in Konkani while landing at the Dabolim airport, TCP Minister Vijai Sardesai on Thursday said the Goa Forward will take up one by one other issues dear to Goemkars, including making it mandatory for companies to provide jobs for the Goan unemployed youth.

While congratulating Union Minister Suresh Prabhu for moving swiftly and quickly to order airlines to make in-flight announcements in local languages while landing at the airports, the TCP Minister reminded that Konkani symbolises Goan identity and culture and the language should be promoted in all spheres of life.

Saying he was ridiculed in many quarters and had come under attack from the political opponents, Sardesai said those who had ridiculed him have got a response from the Union Civil Aviation Minister. “Suresh Prabhu, who is closely associated with Konkani language has met our demand for making airlines to make in-flight announcements while landing at the Dabolim airport,” he said.

The Goa Forward chief pointed out that the regional party, which swears by Goem, Goemkar and Goemkarponn, will bring all the issues plaguing Goa and Goans, including the issue of employment to the fore. “We firmly believe that Konkani should be the main criteria for jobs in the State. We will resolve all issues plaguing Goa and Goans one by one,” he added.

He took a dig at the Congress, saying the Opposition party, has only fooled the people of Goa over the years. He demanded to know why the Congress did not take up the issues facing the people of Goa when they were ruling the State. “The Congress party is jealous about our achievement. People of Goa will see their game plan and expose them politically,”

he added.
