A belligerent TCP Minister, Vishwajit Rane casts motives on journalists who grilled him on several of his recent decisions vis-Ã -vis the outline development plans (ODPs) and the illegal conversions of tenanted land.
“Are you defending the State as Press or are you trying to protect somebody who is asking you to ask me some questions,” Rane snapped, when a journo remarked that the same TCP officials were involved in preparing the ODPs he has now suspended.
When another journalist questioned him that there was an impression that he was being selective in action taken, the minister asked: “From where are you? Are you happy with what is happening in Moira, Aldona, Assagoa or Calangute? More than Goans there are people from outside coming and settling.”
He further informed that most journalists in the State were in conformity with the decisions taken by him.
