Speaking to The Goan, Rane said that the meeting was the starting point to
streamline the process of offering health services to the state and was an initial meeting to find the problems and fix them.
“We are starting the process to have a single window redressal system in order that the flow of information is directly between me and the medical officers and the heads of the primary and community health centres,” Rane said.
“Whatever problems are there can then be fixed quickly. It’s about streamlining the process of delivery of health services,” Rane added
He said that with the lifting of the the ban on recruitment which includes the health
sector, vacancies for the posts of doctors could now be filled quickly.
Rane asked the doctors to notify him of the shortfalls they faced during their day-to-day work and assured
that he would try to meet their needs in the shortest possible manner.
Rane also said that he would soon be calling a similar meeting of the heads of departments of the Goa
Medical College and Hospital to take stock of the hospital and improve the systems and other facilities in place.
