Visitors to South Goa district hospital sans mask sent home

MARGAO

Beware, visitors to the South Goa district hospital. Chances are that you may not get entry if you don’t wear a face mask.

Several visitors to the hospital sans masks had to return when they were stopped at the main entrance from entering the premises.

In fact, security guards manning the entrance to the hospital have been insisting on face masks by the visitors, sending home those who violate the norm.

“We are helpless. We are only obeying the instructions from the hospital management,” a security guard informed.

Verbal duels between the visitors and security personnel have become a common feature at the entrance over the face masks.

A senior official, however, said that face masks have been made compulsory for the visitors in their interest as well as in the interest of the patients and those working inside the hospital.

Sources further pointed out that the face masks have been insisted on as a precautionary measure and not to harass the visitors.
