VMC shifted to new offices
VALPOI: Valpoi Municipal Council (VMC) on Monday shifted its office to the new administrative building near Valpoi bridge.
When contacted, VMC Chairperson Ramdas Shirodkar said the council office started functioning from the new building on Monday.
“There was delay in shifting to the new premises due to the ongoing procedure of auctioning the shops/stalls in the building. Since all the shops are auctioned and other formalities are complete, we shifted to the new premises,” Shirodkar informed.
It may be recalled that the building was inaugurated 10 months ago. It was constructed by Goa State Urban Development Agency at a cost of about Rs 12 crore with facilities for VMC offices, fruits and vegetable market and a municipal hall.
