CANACONA
Saying that politicians not only from Margao and Panjim, but also from Delhi and West Bengal have started making a beeline to seek votes, Deputy Speaker and Canacona MLA Isidore Fernandes has called on voters to vote only for those take care of their problems after the elections.
Fernandes was speaking as a Chief Guest at the 3rd Kala Utsav function held by Indreshwar Youth Club in association with Department of Arts and Culture at Indrawada Gaondongrim.
Fernandes said, "With the elections nearing, it's but natural for politicians to make a beeline at voters doors. This time politicians not only from Margao and Panjim, but also from Delhi and West Bengal has begun wooing the electorate especially of Canacona. My only request to the voters of Canacona is to try to find out and realise as to which politician comes back to you, asks about your well-being and also seeks to understand and solve your problems after the elections are over and do vote for him/her."
He said that programmes like Kala Utsav and others bring village people and others together, but when different politicians come with different political views differences crop up and it gives rise to formation of different groups. "This shouldn't be allowed to happen, but villagers unity should remain forever," Isidore added.
