A group of women from Waghurme in Priol constituency has threatened to block the Opa-Khandepar road, if the PWD water division fails to provide proper supply of tap water.
The aggrieved women from Waghurme on Wednesday met officials of the water division at Daag-Ponda and placed their problems before them. The officials have assured to resolve the issue within eight days.
The agitated women sought to know how water from Opa could get supplied to Panaji and other distant areas, while it could not reach Waghurme, which is barely 12 kms away.
The women who gathered at Daag-Ponda claimed they have been getting irregular water supply since the last four months.
Sources informed that the water division has been facing technical problems, which had caused the irregular water supply to Waghurme.
