The office of the Salcete Civil Supplies housed in the old  Collectorate building witnessed serpentine queues over the last three  days, with officials attributing the situation to problems associated  with the server.

The situation left the citizens an agitated lot as  they accused the officials with doing nothing to mitigate their  hardships, only blaming the server.

A citizen Oswald Fernandes  pointed out that people have been standing in a queue for hours in the  morning session, with no sign of the office attending to the public. He  pointed out that while the non-functioning lift of the old Collectorate  building put many a citizen to great hardships, the situation was no  better at the office of Civil Supplies. What agitated members of the  public the most was the fact that while one computer was functioning  normally, the second one was down with internet problem, with citizens  demanding to know how come the internet problem has affected only one  computer.

Many a citizen who had come for corrections in the names in Aadhaar cards had to go home disappointed as the huge queue was not  moving at all.

When contacted, Civil Supplies Inspector Arun Kumar  Pillai attributed the situation to issues connected with internet. He  explained that the server was down during the last two days and the internet  is slow on Wednesday, affecting the services. He, however, pointed out  that the office has geared up to meet the requirements of the citizens,  promising to attend to each and every citizen and resolve their  grievances.
