Warren Alemao offers to join Cong, party decision awaited

In an interesting political development, Varca-based Warren Alemao has expressed his willingness to join the Congress party and work at the grassroots level in Benaulim constituency.

The Congress leadership is yet to take a call on the application dated February 9 received from Warren.

In his application addressed to the South Goa District Congress President Savio D’Silva, Warren has said he would like to formally express his willingness to join the Indian National Congress in Goa.

He pointed out that he has been actively involved in social work and public service at the grassroots level in Benaulim constituency, addressing issues concerning local residents and working towards their welfare. “I strongly believe in the ideology, values and vision of the Indian National Congress, particularly its commitment to secularism, social justice and inclusive development. I am keen to contribute my time, effort and experience to strengthen the Congress party in Benaulim constituency. I am especially motivated to work under the leadership of Rahul Gandhi and contribute towards strengthening the party’s connect with the people at the grassroots,” he stated.

In his application, Warren further said that several committed individuals from Benaulim constituency will be joining the Indian National Congress, including panch members, sarpanchas and local leaders who share the same belief in the party’s ideology and vision.
