MARGAO
Miscreants dumped pick-up loads of garbage Saturday night at a dark spot, triggering outrage and condemnation.

The garbage came to light at the Borda locality of the city, meters away from the multipurpose school complex.

Margao Municipal Garbage Management Committee Camilo Barretto condemned the incident and has demanded action against the miscreants, including fine and attachment of the vehicle used in the transportation of the waste.

Camilo said it is apparent that the waste has been transported from a hotel after a function. “Close scrutiny of the waste shows that the garbage must have been stacked at the hotel in the last two days before it was disposed of at the black spot,” Camilo said, while demanding hefty fine and attaching of the vehicle.

Scrutiny of the CCTV footage shows that the waste was transported by a rickshaw before it was dumped at the site.
