A youth hailing from West Bengal was arrested by police in the early hours of Tuesday on charges of possessing drugs valued at Rs 2.7 lakh in Arambol.
According to reports, the incident took place on Monday sometime between 11.15 pm and 11.45 pm, when the accused, Sayal Sameer Mohammed (20), presently residing at Madhalawada in Arambol, was found in possession of 2.788 kgs of ganja at a parking lot near Arambol beach.
A case was registered and Mohammed was arrested in the early hours of Tuesday. Further investigation is underway under the guidance of the Mandrem police inspector.
