Reports emerging from Mumbai and confirmed by the icon himself have indicated that his prodigy Schulen Fernandes will now be in-charge of his label with the Lakme Fashion Week (LFW) Winter/Festive 2016 on Wednesday being his last.
‘The Goan’ has learnt that Wendell will instead focus on developing his museum at Campal as well as publishing books and withdraw from the mainstream.
His first collection showcase back in the 1990s earned him the title “Guru of Minimalism” and later on he pioneered the concept of “resort wear” and “eco-friendly” garments in Indian fashion.
Rodricks has said that he trusts Schulen Fernandes, his student, who will take over from him, to know his philosophy.
He said that it was important that he, like many others, moves on.
