Slamming ex-MLA Francisco Silveira for questioning him over development in the constituency, St Andre MLA Viresh Borkar has opined that the development that he did in three years was not done in the 20 years tenure of Silveira.
Addressing reporters in Panaji on Friday, Borkar outlined the various development that he undertook in the constituency, with regards to roads, power and water supply.
"Areas like Goa Velha, Batim, Siridao, Curca lagged behind in the basic necessities and after becoming MLA, I saw to it that the people of these areas were not deprived of these necessities," Borkar stated.
He then chided the statement of Silveira in which he said that he met CM because of private jobs.
"Has the governance stooped so low that now the CM has to be approached for private jobs?" he quipped and chided the former MLA for blatant lies.
The MLA then slammed the former MLA for wasteful development like the bridge at Dongrim-Mandur, which goes to nowhere.
Borkar then took on former Azossim-Mandur sarpanch Ajit Bacal for trying to blame him over EHN provided to a Delhi party, and also targeting him that he pressured CM over his brother's issues.
"I want to categorically state that it was during the tenure of Bacal that the Delhi party had approached the panchayat for EHN," Borkar claimed and cited various other controversies that took place under the tenure of the former sarpanch.
Panchas of Batim, Agassaim, party members and supporters also spoke and condemned Silveira and Bacal for trying to undermine the work of RGP MLA Viresh Borkar.
