BICHOLIM
BJP state president Vinay Tendulkar has demanded to know why Bicholim Bachao Abiyaan (BBA) has not disclosed the names of the 12 candidates backed by them in the Bicholim Municipal Council (BMC) polls.
“Though BBA has fielded their 12 candidates, they have no guts to reveal their identity by disclosing their names because they fear that this development may affect winning chances of their candidates,” stated Tendulkar while addressing a news conference at Deendayal Bhavan hall, Bicholim.
Sakhali MLA Dr Pramod Sawant said the State government will make efforts to use central funds for the welfare of BMC area if the BJP-backed panel comes to power in BMC.
Riaz Beig said the BJP-led council had undertaken several development works that included renovation of Shivaji Maidan, door-to-door garbage collection, implementation of the new traffic plan, hot mixing of roads, rehabilitation of old shops and other developmental issues during the last three years.
Former Bicholim MLA Rajesh Patnekar, Vishwas Gaonkar, Arun Naik, Prabhakar Vernekar and Vithal Vernekar were present for the news conference.
