Ports Minister Michael Lobo on Thursday said Union Home Minister Amit Shah would visit the State sometime in October and will hold meetings with party legislators and leaders.
“During his visit to the State, the union home minister will inaugurate a forensic college and will also interact with party MLAs and leaders,” said Lobo.
Stating that he had met Shah in the presence of Goa BJP Election In-charge Devendra Fadnavis in New Delhi on Wednesday to apprise him of the political scenario in the State, Lobo said he would meet up with Shah during his visit to the State.
Denying having had any discussion regards the BJP ticket for his wife, Lobo maintained he had only put forth his views to Shah.
“My wife, Delilah, will win on the ticket of any party or even as an independent candidate. She has good support in Siolim constituency and she does not need my help,” said Lobo.
Lobo was confident that the BJP would win all seven constituencies in Bardez at the next assembly elections.
In a tweet, Fadnavis stated: “Met our leader, Union Home Minister Amit Shah to brief and to seek guidance for the Goa Assembly Elections in New Delhi on Wednesday. Goa Minister Michael Lobo too joined.”
Lobo said the BJP had done its surveys and was aware which leader had influence in each constituency.
