Will 8 Cong-turned BJP MLAs stand by their poll manifesto?

MARGAO
Goencho Ekvott convenor Creson Antao has posed a pointed query to the eight Congress-turned-BJP MLAs “ do these MLAs still stand by their election manifesto promising to scrap the three-linear projects or do they now subscribe to the ruling party’s stand to take the controversial projects to its logical conclusion?

The Goencho Ekvott convenor reminded that the eight Congress MLAs comprising Digambar Kamat, Aleixo Sequeira, Michael Lobo, Delilah Lobo, Kedar Naik, Rajesh Faldesai, Sankalp Amonkar and Rudolf Fernandes had all vowed to scrap the three linear projects if the Congress returned to power in the 2022 Assembly election. With these eight MLAs now part of the ruling BJP government headed by Chief Minister Pramod Sawant, Creson said it is morally incumbent on these MLAs to get the government to scrap the three linear projects.

“These MLAs have come under the scanner of the people of Goa. God too is watching these MLAs. They had all vowed to work towards the scrapping of the controversial projects when they were candidates of the Congress party,” Creson said, adding “Let us wait and see how the MLAs go about the work since they are part of the BJP dispensation.”
