Goa Forward party along with like-minded MLAs have moved an application for a short duration discussion on burning issues like Mhadei, reservation to ST and Citizenship Amendment Act and National Register of Citizens in the upcoming Goa Legislative Assembly.
Goa Forward Party president Vijai Sardesai said that they will raise the issues along with Congress, MGP and Churchill.
GF and Rohan Khaunte have put all these 15 amendments and they will raise 15 calling attention motions in the 5 day session.
“Government intentions for closing of social security scheme, extortion threats to PWD minister, Western bypass, tiger killing, alleged involvement of a minister’s brother in the suicide of Merces panch member, UP man impersonating as minister and enjoying state reception in Goa, killing of a Goan seafarer by pirates at Nigeria, issues related to community farming will be raised,” informed Sardesai.
To bring around 13,708 hectares of uncultivated land under farming during my tenure as minister we had moved a proposal for community farming, but nothing happened in this direction, said Sardesai.
The financial situation of the state is so bad that the finance secretary has to make a statement to cancel social schemes, Sardesai said.
While commenting on the union budget passed in the Parliament on Saturday, Sardesai said that the Goa Chamber of Commerce and Industries has said that this budget is below expectations when it comes to Goa.
“There is nothing Goa-specific in the budget. It means that either the Goa government has not given suggestions or the suggestions given by the Goa government were not accepted at the Centre,” Sardesai said.
Sardesai informed that he has moved congratulatory motion for Cecil Rodrigues for doing good work on the road issue with the rosto campaign.
