Will speak to CM after assessing ground situation in Melauli: Valpoi MLA

PANAJI

The long suppressed voice of Health Minister and Valpoi MLA on Monday finally found utterance when he took to Twitter to stand in solidarity with the people from Sattari who have been protesting over the last few months against the proposed IIT project at Shel-Melauli.

He announced his intention to assess the ground situation and accordingly, raise the subject with Chief Minister Pramod Sawant, who has been at loggerheads with the protesting locals since the very first day.

“I shall be assessing the ground situation with our people regarding IIT at Shel-Melauli and will discuss the matter with Hon’ble CM @DrPramodPSawant in this regard,” he tweeted.

The Valpoi MLA further said that he intends to seek an appointment with CM Sawant to discuss the matter pertaining to the IIT project. “Issues raised by our people is (sic) of utmost concern to me, and I shall be working towards resolving the same,” he stated.

The Health Minister pulled a volte face when the locals from neighbouring villages in Sattari began joining hands with the protestors from Shel-Melauli. “All that matters to me are my people of Sattari & Usgao and their sentiments. My people are my true strength,” he sought to stress in his last tweet.
