The workers and Palkar apprised Hazare of their problems and also submitted a memorandum, correspondence made to the government and other paper cuttings to Hazare, who after going through the matter assured to help them.
Speaking to The Goan, Sandeep Halankar, one of the eight workers who met Hazare, said they highlighted their problems to Hazare and also informed that the
management has not paid workers salaries for the last nine months.
“Hazare gave a patient hearing and said since he is from Maharashtra and the issue is in Goa, he cannot directly interfere in the matter,” said Halankar.
“Hazare directed us to submit all the documents to his PA and after studying the matter assured to take it up with the central government, Goa Chief Minister Laxmikant Parsekar and Defence Minister Manohar Parrikar,”
added Halankar.
“We have requested Hazare to visit the workers on indefinite hunger strike at Headland Sada so that he can know the problems faced by us and our families due to non-payment of our salaries,” said Halankar.
