The Chief Minister was recently quoted as saying that Goa has not missed the ‘IT bus’, and the State would soon turn issues faced by the southern states into opportunities to attract investments in the sector.
On the flip side, despite the buzz of IT hub in Goa, IPB was quick to respond that there have been no Information Technology projects seeking to set shop in Goa.
The IPB which was created in 2014 by the state government to bring more industries into the state with an eye employment has seen majority of investments have come from hospitality and real estate sectors. Goa IT Professionals (GITP) vice-president Vincent Toscano said, “No IT project has been cleared by the IPB since its inception. This is after GITP and other such associations had helped the state government in coming out with an IT policy. We need to see more action on this front than mere words.”
Toscano continued, “There are so many young engineers in the state, who need jobs, which the IT sector
can provide.
I do not know whether the Congress is scared of AAP or simply that the party is still on a dormant mode
