Woman alleges repeated sexual assault, kidnapping in Verna

South Goa Superintendent of Police Akshat Ayush on Monday said the Verna police have registered FIRs in connection with the alleged kidnapping and sexual assault of a woman from Uttar Pradesh.

The woman, accompanied by social activists, approached the district police chief alleging repeated sexual assault by a labour contractor.

She alleged that the contractor sexually assaulted her repeatedly on the promise of marriage before abandoning her.

She also alleged that four other persons sexually assaulted her.

The SP, South, told the media that the Verna police have registered three separate FIRs following the complaint lodged by the woman.

He said the police have also arrested some of the accused.
