Woman dies of KFD at GMC

A 45-year-old woman from Keri-Sattari died of Kyasanur Forest Disease (KFD) at GMC Hospital in Bambolim on Monday. This is the sixth death linked to KFD in Sattari.

According to sources, Gulabi Gawas was being treated for fever at the health centre in Sakhali since the last many days and tests confirmed that she was suffering from KFD.  
Gawas was later shifted to GMC Hospital at Bambolim on Friday as her health deteriorated and she breathed her last.  
When contacted, Epidemiologist Dr Utkarsh Betodkar confirmed the death due to KFD.

NCP will file PIL if public hearings go in favour of MPT: Jose Philip
