AAP leader Capt Venzy Viegas has challenged the Benaulim MLA, Churchill Alemao for a debate on his work on education for the youth of Benaulim. Capt Viegas was speaking in response to the MLA distributing notebooks in the constituency.
In a press note, Capt Viegas said that instead of indulging in photo-ops Alemao should share to the voters what real work he has done to improve or augment education in Benaulim.
Stating that while AAP has set global standards for its education model even tying up with the International Baccalaureate (IB), Capt Viegas said Goa MLAs especially Alemao have nothing to show despite being incumbent for so many years.
Capt Viegas further highlighted that it’s a historic step by AAP to tie up with the IB and provide international standard education to everyone regardless of their economic status. The Delhi government is signing a knowledge partnership agreement with the IB. He said, “As a pilot project first 30 government schools will start with this partnership in Delhi.”
“While the AAP is getting ready to provide international standards to all those under the Kejriwal sarkar we see in our own Benaulim that Alemao has not moved beyond giving out notebooks. Is that all there is to education?” said Capt Viegas.
“I therefore invite Alemao to a debate to share what is his vision and work in this sector for the youth. Let him have a debate on the merits of his vision and the vision that AAP has for Benaulim, a vision of bringing international standard education and training for our youth so they can compete globally,” Capt Viegas said in the press note.
