He was speaking during the awareness workshop on KFD organised by Indian Medical Association (IMA) in association with Bicholim Primary Health Centre at Hirabai Zantye memorial hall Bicholim.
Bicholim MLA Rajesh Patnekar, Bicholim PHC health officer Dr Medha Salkar, IMA Bicholim president Dr Shekhar Salkar and Dr Sandesh Chodankar were present along with officials from forest department, sarpanchas and panchas.
Dr Betodkar spoke on precautions to be taken to avoid KFD ticks from entering human body and advised people visiting the dense forest to wear white and bright clothes. He also stressed the need for vaccinations. Dr Yogesh Naik provided detailed information about monkey fever in Pernem taluka and other areas.
