Students of Yashwantrao Bhonsale Institute of Technology have demonstrated exemplary engineering skills, innovation, and teamwork by designing and manufacturing a technically sound and visually impressive go-kart for the national-level “Go-Kart Design Challenge.” The team will represent the Konkan region at the 13th National Go-Kart Design Competition to be held in Coimbatore between 20 to24 February.
The go-kart was officially unveiled today at the hands of the institute’s Secretary, Sanjeev Desai. Principal Dr Raman Bane, Vice Principal Gajanan Bhosale, Heads of Departments, and students were present on the occasion. While extending his best wishes, Desai stated that such projects provide students with practical knowledge, teamwork experience, budget management skills and valuable industry exposure. Dr Raman Bane and Gajanan Bhosale also appreciated the students’ efforts and wished them success at the national competition.
A total of 18 students from the Mechanical, Electrical and Computer Engineering departments worked collaboratively to complete this project. Gaurang Tulsulkar, Harsh Mestri, along with their Degree and Diploma teammates, played a key role in successfully executing the project. Alumni Kapil Malgaonkar and Manish Manerkar extended valuable support to the initiative. Mechanical Department Lecturer Milind Desai explained the objective behind selecting the project, its planning, and the overall journey. The project was coordinated by Manish Ghatge (Diploma) and Ashish Suvare (Degree).
The project received financial assistance and sponsorship from Bhonsale Knowledge City as well as Minco, Thermal Instruments, Softmusk, Mapsons, Dezol System Solid Works and Hindustan Polymer. A thrilling live demonstration of the go-kart was presented before the students. The team expressed strong determination to achieve remarkable success at the national competition in Coimbatore and bring laurels to the institute.
