Taking a cue from widespread disgust over pathetic and pot-holed roads in the State, the youth wing of the Congress on Saturday launched its ‘Spot the Pothole’ contest on social media with Opposition leader Digambar Kamat, State president Girish Chodankar and its youth wing president Varad Mardolkar taking to the streets at Panaji and clicking pictures on their smartphones at Neuginagar.
The unique contest requires members of the public to post their personal captures of potholes which will be judged and awarded prizes. It is part of the GPYC’s #GoaDeservesBetter campaign.
Pictures/selfies with potholes in their area posted on social media platforms must tag @IYCGoa and use the hashtag #SpotThePothole with location mentioned and three friends tagged.
GPYC is offering smartphones, electronic gadgets, Bluetooth speakers and #GoaDeservesBetter T-shirts as prizes and October 14 is the last day for entries.
Crater-like potholes have added the biggest discomfort to Goans and tourists alike and the Goa IYC is determined to highlight this failure of the BJP-led government, the GPYC said in a press release.
