AAP, TMC have every right to contest polls in State: MLA

PORVORIM
Porvorim MLA Rohan Khaunte on Saturday said every party in the country, be it Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) or Trinamool Congress, has every right to come to Goa and fight assembly elections and said all like-minded parties should unite and fight elections as one entity to topple the BJP in the State.

Addressing a news conference in Porvorim, Khaunte said many more parties would arrive in the State to contest elections. “It is up to the people of Goa to decide which party they would support. The BJP would like every party in Goa to field their own candidates in all 40 constituencies so that votes get divided and they get an easy victory.”

“If the BJP comes to power again, people will get same type of administration for the next five years. To avoid this, all like-minded parties should unite and fight elections as one entity.”

When asked if he was planning to join any party, Khaunte said: “I will take a decision at the appropriate time.”
