CANACONA
In yet another incident in Canacona within barely two days, a youth was electrocuted at his house in Loliem late Monday night.
According to Canacona police, Suraj Rajputh Lodi (21) was found lying on the floor near the main gate of the house, and it is believed that current had leaked through the wire which was passing through the gate.
Family members rushed Lodi to the Canacona Community Health Centre (CHC), where he was declared dead on arrival.
On receiving news of the incident, Canacona police conducted the inquest panchnama and referred the body to the South Goa District Hospital at Margao for an autopsy, which confirmed that death had been caused by electrocution.
Police registered a case under Section 194 BNSS 2023 and later handed over the body to family members for the final rites.
Earlier, on September 27, a youth, Nagesh Lingappa Lamani, a native of Gadag-Karnataka, was working at a workshop in Canacona when he came in contact with live current and was electrocuted at the site.
