Anti Narcotic Cell of Goa Police on Tuesday raided a spot near Siddhesh bar and restaurant in Vijay Nagar, Porvorim and arrested a 21 year-old Gurudas 'Saish' Nagvekar, resident of Chapora, with Rs 17 lakh worth narcotic substances. Another accused, 19 year-old Anjesh Mandrekar from Chapora.
Acting on prior information, ANC team led by sub inspector Manjunath Naik conducted the raid and arrested Nagvekar with 0.630 gms of suspected LSD papers and 300 gms of suspected amphetamine total approximately worth Rs 17 lakh in the international market. A mobile phone, Rs 400 in cash and a yellow colour Vespa scooter has also been attached by the police.
Mandrekar was arrested with two mobile phones for abetting the offence.
The offence was booked under Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances Act on Wednesday. Further investigation is in progress.
