Yuri launches Guirdolim campaign, seeks joint front to defeat BJP
Leader of Opposition Yuri Alemao has kick-started his campaign for the Guirdolim seat with a meeting in Chandor.

MARGAO
Asserting that all Opposition political parties should come together to protect Goa by defeating BJP, Cuncolim MLA and Leader of Opposition Yuri Alemao on Thursday said that Goa’s interests are his top priority, emphasising the need to protect the State from the BJP, which is insensitive to the collapse of law and order and neglecting the common man’s welfare.

Yuri kicked off his campaign for the Guirdolim ZP seat by having a meeting at Chandor along with Cuncolim Congress Block President Asis Noronha, Sanjay Velip and others.

Alemao said that BJP government is trying to divide people over caste and religion, hence everyone should be vigilant and defeat their agenda by showing them the door during election. “BJP is mocking people over coal issue stating they are winning seats despite such destructive plans. If their candidates are won then they will feel that their Dadagiri is accepted by the public. Pollution is taking place in Goa due to coal transportation. This is not safe for our environment and our future,” Alemao said.

“We should send a clear message from this constituency that we are here to protect Goa and oppose coal transportation. This is like second opinion poll, where we should work in the interest of Goa,” he said.

“Opposition have vote share of 67 per cent, we should not allow to divide it, rather we need to unite and win,” he said.
