The first domestic cruise vessel ‘Angriya’, operating between Mumbai and Goa, will make its last voyage of the season from Goa to Mumbai on Sunday evening.
‘Angriya’, which was unveiled in March last year, had begun domestic cruise operations between Goa and Mumbai in October 2018 to become the nation’s first domestic cruise to offer passengers a cruise experience while travelling between Goa and Mumbai.
According to sources, Angriya will sail to Mumbai on its final journey of this season from the Goa port at around 4 pm.
“The ship will be on its last voyage of this season to Mumbai on Sunday. From Mumbai, the ship will be taken to Colombo for dry docking for a period of around 15-20 days, where there will be normal routine maintenance works on the vessel,” said a source.
“After its dry dock, the vessel is likely to arrive in Mumbai, where it could be stationed like a floating hotel to offer people a luxury stay in the sea. The ship will not operate its cruise between Goa and Mumbai during monsoons.”
“We will begin the next cruise season on October 1. We have had a fantastic business and we are extremely happy that we have seem a lot of happy smiling passengers, with most of them first-time cruisers.’
“We got great feedback from customers and great support from the ports (Goa and Mumbai) and we look forward to a great season next year,” the source added.
