Health Minister Vishwajit Rane on Saturday said that ministers and MLAs taking Covid treatment in private hospitals are covered under the Goa Legislative Assembly’s special funding.
When asked to comment on the expenses incurred on the treatment of MLAs in private hospitals, the Health Minister shot said, “The MLAs come under the Legislative Assembly. MLAs who opt for treatment in private hospitals have special funding. It does not come under me, but special funds come under the Assembly Speaker,” he added.
Meanwhile, the Health Minister said that disposal of bio-medical Covid waste has not been affected in the state, saying the incinerator at the Goa Medical College has started functioning again.
To a question that the contractor has stopped food for the caretakers of patients in the ESI Covid hospital, Rane said the issue has been resolved as the government has decided to provide food for the patients as well as
the caretakers in the Covid hospitals.
