Vasco MLA Krishna Salkar on Thursday said the ‘Ram Rajya’, a people-inclusive administration, has already been established in Goa and India.
Salkar was speaking to reporters after welcoming the Ram Rath Shoba Yatra organised by the Vishwa Hindu Parishad in Mormugao Taluka on the occasion of Ram Navami.
"We always say that we must have ‘Ram Rajya’ which means an administration with active participation of all people. We see that this idea of ‘Ram Rajya’ has already been established in Goa and India and we appeal to all people to get inspired by the life of Lord Ram to lead a righteous and virtuous life,” said Salkar.
Meanwhile, a huge police force was seen during the Yatra to avoid any inter-religious conflict and tackle any untoward incidents, as the Yatra which started from Sancoale proceeded to Dabolim and Vasco.
Speaking to reporters, Vasco PI Kapil Nayak said there were minor communal clashes during the Ram Navami last year.
"Keeping all such incidents in mind, we deployed full security at various points across the entire route and our police vehicles also moved along with the Ram Rath Shoba Yatra to prevent any untoward incidents,” said PI Nayak.
