Suvarna Chodankar was unanimously elected as Sarpanch of Mayem panchayat.
The post had fallen vacant after Dilip Shet had resigned as Sarpanch on completion of his tenure in the 11-member Panchayat. Suvarna was the only panch to have filed her nomination to the post.
All panchayat members were present on this occasion. Mayem MLA Premendra Shet and BJP Mandal President Dayanand Karbotkar have congratulated Suvarna on her election as sarpanch.
Election Officer Shirish Kumar Tari presided over the election while Panchayat Secretary Pranay Gawde was also present.
