Leader of the Opposition, Digambar Kamat, has said that the time has come for the Congress leaders and workers to stand united to protect the identity of Goa.
Speaking at the Netaji Subhash Chandra Bose birth anniversary at the South Goa district Congress office on Saturday, Kamat further appealed to the party workers to reach out to the people and be their voice which will help to take forward Netaji’s ideals.
In his address, former Union Minister Eduardo Faleiro said that Netaji Subhash Chandra Bose was one of the tallest leaders of India and was a staunch nationalist. “Today’s youth must take inspiration from him and contribute to nation building,” Faleiro added.
Leader of Opposition Digambar Kamat, South Goa MP Francisco Sardinha, MLA Aleixo Reginaldo Lourenco, former Minister Aleixo Sequeira, GPCC Vice President M K Shaikh, Secretary Damodar Shirodkar, SGDC President Joseph Dias and others paid floral tributes to the portrait of Netaji to mark the occasion.
South Goa MP Francisco Sardinha said that Subhash Chandra Bose was the former president of the Congress Party. “He was a true nationalist who had the courage to fight against the British empire. His contribution to India will never be forgotten,” he added.
