‘Victory flame’ honouring 1971 war win reaches Goa

The "Swarnim Vijay Mashaal" signifying the 'victory flame' lit by Prime Minister Narendra Modi to commemorate the golden jubilee of the 1971 war victory arrived in Goa on Thursday and was received with ceremonial honours.

A statement issued by the 3 Technical Training Regiment (3TTR) and 2 Signal Training Centre (2STC) said the 'victory flame' will remain in Goa until September 16.

"A number of commemorative events at Panjim, Margao, Vasco and Ponda have been planned to showcase the 'victory flame' to the public and celebrate the golden jubilee of the Indian triumph in 1971," the statement said.

The celebrations in Goa are a part of the national celebrations of the 1971 war victory's golden jubilee.
