10 shop occupants ready to sign leave & license with CCP

PANAJI

Ten shop occupants have come forward to sign a leave and license agreement with the Corporation of the City of Panaji (CCP).

Stating this, Panaji Municipal Market Committee Chairman Pramay Mainkar told reporters that those who don't comply with CCP terms would be served with eviction notices.

“Due to technical reasons, the issue was brought before the CCP meeting and a resolution was passed. Now, notices will again be served on shop occupants as per Form A and Form N procedures for eviction and also for recovery of dues,” he said.

Mainkar alleged that many shop operators have illegally sublet the shops to third-party operators and collecting rent of up to Rs 40,000 per month, but said the CCP is not getting a single rupee from these occupants.

Mainkar said the CCP accounts department is working out a formula to recover dues from shop occupants who have been allotted shops in three phases, 2003, 2007 and 2008.
