Goshala Management Committee President Hanumant Parab said water had risen sharply from Thursday night to early Friday morning and flooded the Goshala, which had a number of cattle either tied in the barn or left in the premises.

The floods killed 150 cattle in the Goshala and Parab said while 50 cattle were found dead in the Goshala, about 100 cattle were swept away by the floods. A veterinary officer later conducted a panchanama in the matter.

Parab said office equipment and fodder stocks were also damaged by the floods. Efforts were underway to dispose of the bodies of the cattle.
