MAPUSA: Mapusa and Colvale police have seized 1.227 kgs of Ganja worth Rs1.22 lakh and have arrested two suspects from Mapusa and Tivim. The arrested have been identified as Chhakaudi Hernan Mahato (34) of Madel-Tivim but a native of Bihar and Mal Mia Khan (30) of Tivim. Mapusa police conducted a raid at the Mapusa interstate bus depot early Wednesday morning and caught Mahato in possession of 800 grams of ganja worth Rs 80,000. He was later arrested in the case. A police team under the guidance of Police Inspector Nikhil Palekar conducted the raid. Elsewhere, Colvale Police nabbed Mal Khan near the Hyundai Showroom at Tivim on Tuesday and during the search, 427 grams of ganja worth Rs 42,700 was found with the accused, who was later arrested.
