A local youth and his friend who had complained against loud music and noise pollution at a club in Vagator were allegedly assaulted in the wee hours of Saturday.
Anjuna police have registered an offence against the club owner and others.
The incident is reported to have occurred on Saturday at 5.30 am, when the complainant, Ashley Fernandes of Vagator, had complained to the police regarding noise pollution and loud music at the club on Friday night.
The police had summoned both parties for an inquiry in the matter.
On Saturday morning, the club owner and other unidentified persons went to the residence of Ashley, but only his mother was at home at the time.
When Ashley and a friend reached home, the club owner and his team are alleged to have assaulted Ashley with pipes. His friend who went to the aid of Ashley to stop the fight was also assaulted in the process. The two friends were reportedly threatened with dire consequences.
Ashley and his friend later went to the Anjuna police station and acting on their complaint, the police have registered an offence under the Sections 323, 324, 504, 448 and 506 (2) IPC. Further investigation is in progress.
