Goa now land of 'sun, sand, sea and stunts'

Goa may be known worldwide as a land of ‘Sun, Sand and Sea’. Now, thanks to the local tourists visiting the State, Goa could be famous as a land of 'Sun, Sand, Sea and Stunts'. The local tourists have been carrying out stunts on moving cars on a regular basis, the videos of which have become viral on social media. The stunts involved include sitting on top of a speeding car, driving with the car doors open, driving on the beach sand, dancing on top of rental cars, etc. While some are seen jutting their body through the sunroof, others are seen standing in the open jeep and also leaning out of the car windows, thereby risking their safety and the safety of those around them.

But the one stunt that has stunned everyone and has hit the roof, quite literally, is the one seen on a video recording which has gone viral on social media. The video shows two children sleeping dangerously on the roof of a Telangana-registered SUV driven by the father of the children. It must be said that the video is deeply distressing and alarming as it depicts parental negligence as it poses a threat to the safety of the minors. The children can easily fall off the car as they can easily doze off or lose balance at a sharp turn or due to sudden braking. It can also put the other road users in trouble as the children can fall and come under the wheels of their vehicles. The driver should be taken to task and given exemplary punishment under the law for such a dangerous act.
